Booking Information
Whether you're planning a holiday or hoping to return during one of our peak periods, you'll find everything you need to know about booking your accommodation below.
Preferred Units
Some people have a preference for a particular unit and we will strongly consider this and the reason why but on occasions we may have to place you to a different unit of the same type at any time before arrival.
We need to maintain this flexibility to cater for various scenarios and to maximise the use of our units which helps keep accommodation costs reasonable and affordable.
Booking Accommodation During Peak Times
During selected peak periods, including school holidays, Easter and other high-demand times, accommodation is generally offered by the week or another relevant block.
For these periods, we use an Application and Offer system to allocate accommodation for the following year.
How the Application & Offer system works
1. Make an Application
If you would like to book or rebook accommodation during a peak period the following year, you must submit an APPLICATION on or before your departure.
Your application should include:
- The type or types of accommodation you would like
- The period or periods that would suit you
- Your preferences in order of priority
This applies to everyone, including guests who have had a regular booking. We do not automatically assume that a regular guest wishes to return, and we do not contact guests to ask whether they would like to rebook.
Applications are not accepted more than 12 months in advance, allowing our regular guests the first opportunity to apply.
2. We Allocate Accommodation
Once the relevant peak period has concluded, we systematically allocate accommodation based on the applications received.
3. We Send Offers
We then send offers within two weeks of the conclusion of the relevant peak period.
If you made an application but have not received an offer within three weeks of the conclusion of the peak period, you can assume that we have unfortunately been unable to allocate accommodation to you at that time.
You are welcome to contact us to have your name placed on our Wait List in case a cancellation becomes available.
The Wait List
We hold names on the Wait List for up to two months, as guests will often have found alternative accommodation by then.
If, after two months, you would still like to remain on the Wait List, simply contact us and we can note that you are still interested. Your name can then be held for another two months.
What is a ‘Regular Booking’?
A regular booking is one when the same person/couple has been occupying a unit in the same relative period for at least 3 consecutive years (excluding any “one off” bookings). People who re-apply for a regular booking are not guaranteed an offer, however if they leave a neat and clean unit on departure and have shown due regard for fellow guests, our establishment and management, we will normally be able to again offer them another booking. In essence this system is guided by the principle of mutual respect.
An event such as a redevelopment that removes a unit or the rearrangement of school holidays dates by the Education Department are other examples where we may not be able to offer accommodation to people.
Note also that ‘regular’ bookings are not transferable to other family members or friends, who need to make an application in their own right.
Please note
A regular booking is not transferable to another family member or friend. Anyone wishing to make a regular booking must submit an application in their own right.
There may also be circumstances where we are unable to offer accommodation, such as redevelopment that removes a unit or changes to school holiday dates by the Education Department.
